I have a friend that has a 400ex coil on his 300ex, I know it will work but does he gain anything? It is alot bigger coil, size wise. Does it have a stronger spark? Something is diffrent or honda would have left it the same. I am slowly building a better bike , I have a 400ex carb going on and more fuel needs a hotter spark. Would this work for a poor mans monster coil?

the resistance is probably all thats different it may produce a little hotter spark but not much.

Why would honda go to a diffrent coil than the 300ex? I figured that with the bigger carb on the 400 it would be a hotter spark. Does anyone know how top comprare the two, to see if there is much diffrence?
