Quick question for the Vets.

I got a TRX300FW 1994 i am currently restoring and upgrading.

After I get it working, i want to mount a plow on it. I just got myself a 2k LB winch and mount plate.

So i have these 2 questions before i buy my next parts:
1) What kit do you recommend (preferably more generic (yet still reliable) than brand name) for a blow mounting bracket that attaches to the ATV frame?
2) What size plow do you recommend for the trx300 that clears both tires (then it angles left/right) but is not adding more L/R length than necessary?

Here’s the mount you need–I have one will fit a cycle Country, Kolpin, or KFI plow. I use a manual lift arm for this you would need a special set of push tubes

I do not have a 300, but would think my older 400 is close in the same size range of it, maybe hair wider/longer, but not much, you need to measure your atv's width and then look at below chart, you want your atv's tires to be OUT of the snow plow blades path, extra is better than less here IMO. plow more often before getting too deep and you will be fine too!

I run a 60 inch blade and a push tube , belly mounted set up using winch to lift, for the past 20 yrs now
Moose makes a universal belly pan mount too, cheap off brand name blade can be just that CHEAP and bend and fail, buy once cry once!

I THINK there blades are GREAT blades too, mind has taken a beating for the past 20 yrs now and still holding up great and I am FAR from easy on it

Path cleared when fully angled
72” – 65-5/8”
66” – 60-1/4”
60” – 56”
55” – 50-1/2”
50” – 46”
42” – 39”

I went and picked up a 52" plow with an A-frame mount and Polaris frame floor clamp for $150.

in the next few days I am going to drill out some more proper mounting holed for U bolts for my trx300fw and modify the lift so it can take a winch hook.

OK,
So sorry for taking so song, but I FINALLY got the project done.

Here is a bunch of pics of my home made plate and mounting solution to retrofit the plow i bought (for a Polaris something) to my TRX300FW.

Straight up, I used scrap steel, and like $6 in U bolts form a hardware store. That is it.

I think it should hold up, but I also did a sloppy job with the welding and fabrication (I am a real "eyeball" it person).

I guess i will report back if it ever breaks, and the repairs i will do.

ANYWAY, let me know what you think of my $156 plow for my TRX300FW

PS: We had a crazy snow storm the day after i started the final stage of the project, so that is why it went from dry to snow covered in the pics. In case your wondering.

looks good, only thing I can MAYBE see is if the blade doesn't have any skids on the corners, when the ground isn;t frozen, it can make a mess plowing tearing up dirt and??
they should be simple to add, Moose makes there old type still that is just threaded rod onto a hard dish, then just need to make a plate on plow ends to screw them into
just something to maybe think about!

Actually the plow does have those skid things (jsut bad angles so its now shown).
I need to look up how to use them, but hey, whatever. I just use the winch to get it to a height to a level where i wont scoop the gravel.

the problem with that is, as you drive the distance changes and then when plow is angled, the side closest to the tire will be LOWER than the other side by a bunch

if you go to the MOOSE sit, you will see them
the screw in ones you adjust by screwing them in, and set how much you want wear bar on ground or above slightly is what you want

the spring llike one's have washers you use to adjust the height of wear bar, rather simple things
I prefer the screw in one's and I use the HARDENED version one's the plain steel one's don;t last near as long, but I used to plow a LOT of miles every winter,(now have a skid steer as of last 2 yrs and don't have the farms I used to , so a LOT less plowing now)
but I used wear a set out ever yr of steel one's and the harden steel one;'s last about 2 yrs and only a few dollars more, so, better bang for the buck for me!
