Hey guys! I'm new here so take it easy on me! Trying to get this Rancher back going. It's set up for 6-8 months. So far:
Drained tank
Rebuilt Carb
New fuel filter
New spark plug
New gas line
I'm getting spark and fuel for sure. It's seems to have good compression but I haven't checked it. Even if I spray starting fluid in the intake or carb it won't crank. Just a backfire or a small pop every now and then if I choke it. Also, the slide is not going up and down inside Carb when I hit throttle. Is that a vacuum? If so where am I missing one. Thanks so much for any help!

If you are spraying starting fluid in the intake and it backfires/ pops it's out of time or you have low/no compression.

Welcome to the forum. Get the compression checked. My guess would be you have valve issues or the timing is off.
