Does anyone have pinout information or a diagram for the cdi for a 1989 trx300? Would really appreciate any help and assistance.

Thanks so much but was tying to understand which wires go to what terminals on the cdi. I think some work was done at some point in time on the wiring harness and just not sure all wiring is in the right place on the wiring harness plug that plugs into the cdi. Again - Tnx and any additional help would be appreciated.

Are you putting a new OEM Honda CDI on it? We've seen a couple cases here where folks tried to put a china knockoff CDI on those early 300s... and it wasn't pretty. The china knockoffs are AC CDI, which fries stuff the moment the key is turned on.

Previous owner tried China unit but it now has an OEM cdi unit. I am going to check tomorrow and make sure that what was ordered was the correct Orm part. Have also been through the wiring harness and checked every wire for continuity. Found a problem with a wire at the start switch but repaired that. Also replaced the pulse coil. Ignition coil is good. Thanks so much for the reply.
