Hey guys, I have a 400ex and I was wondering the best way to make my bike have more power for free. I know this may sound extremely stupid, but I'd like to know because I wont be able to buy anything until Christmas time. Another quick question, In order to adjust the valves, do I have to cut the old plastic rivets off and replace them with new ones? I know they are cheap but I was gonna do it tonight and none of the dealers are open today.

Plastic rivets???? No mods are completely free. Gearing change is pretty cheap

they look like little plastic snap things. they hold the plastics together.

You can reuse those if you don't break them getting them out. Pull up the center piece first and then pull the whole thing out.

Can you post some pics? You should not have to break anything to remove the plastics.

You can pop the air box lid off, however if you don't re-jet your 400 it can be harmful.
