ive read online a thousand different ways to restore faded fenders but but not sure what method to use. anybody done it? and not like armor all. i thought about painting them but heard the paint will crack and peal but others say it works. how would you prep the fenders for paint and what type of paint? or should i just stick to sanding and using a cleaner of some kind and if so what kind of cleaner??

I would think with painting them the prep work is the most important.. I am sure you would have to sand or scuff up the plastic real good to get the primer to stick, and then depending how shiny or nice you want it on what paint to get..Oh and then if you want a clear coat or not..(which I would recomend)

You would have to add a adhesive promoter/flex agent like bulldog.
I have used this material on care bumper covers. Works pretty good.
I heard something about people using heatguns to restore plastic. I am not sure how to do it.

ive used PC racing plastic cleaner.. i bought the stuff off ebay for somewhere around 35 bucks or so.. did the whole tope part of the plastic on my quad with it and it took all the scratches out of it.. but u gotta work with the heavyer wet sand paper.. it really brings the shine back outta it after u do it.. everything to do all of it is in the box.. its about a 5 step process.. first 3 are of 3 different types of wet sand paper, 4th is to go over the plastic after uv cleand it with the sand paper and last is to apply the stuff in the bottle.. its looks like milk but after it gets on the plastic it fills in all the fine scratches from sanding and the more coats u put on the shinnyer the plastic looks.. id do about 3 4 coats but gotta wait about 5 minuts inbetween applying the stuff.. try it out i promiss u it will work...

to be honest the best thing i've found so far is the headlight repair kit from mothers. that stuff works, and a little heat helps too. but i used a hair dryer and buffed with a high speed drill also started by wet sanding then cleaning with acetone (i used carb cleaner. it works) but mine is so faded i don't think it'll ever come back
