My Quad sat for a little and would start but would not stay running. I cleaned my carb and changed the spark plug. originally it was revving high so I took carb back off and got a kink out of the throttle cable and messed with the idle screw a little. Then it wasn't getting enough gas to stay running so I adjusted it again. Now it will stay running and will rev up and rev down by itself just a hair at idle. I adjusted the throttle cable where it threads into the throttle box at the handle bars and its either too much or not enough. The throttle is stuck so if I let off the clutch it will just go with not pressing the gas and bogs out 3/4 of the way of full throttle...it is also smoking sometimes from my exhaust or where the mid pipe is clamped together.

Did you drain all the old fuel? If not try to get as much out as you can.

You cleaned the carb? Probably not as good as it needed

The carb adjustment may also be contributing to poor performance

Do you have the service manual? This may not have a conventional carb but a throttle body and fuel pump; still it sounds like you’re looking in the right place.

Yes I dumped all the old fuel and replaced with new fuel. The carb actually wasn't that dirty when I opened it up to begin with. I soaked the jets in sea foam along with drying the out and using carb cleaner on them and spraying the cleaner in the arb itself.
