I just recently got an older Rancher (possibly 1993) model but not really sure as the I’d plate is missing. Is there an easy way to identity what year and model it is? Also are there any online manuals that are available?

The Rancher was not made until 2000.



The VIN number should be stamped on the crossmember on the front of the bike, behind the front grill. It might be hard to see. You can wipe the area with water or WD-40 then shine a bright light at an angle to the digits to make them show up better. The "plate" you mentioned is probably the one that was mounted to the side of the frame. That plate did not contain the VIN number.


If you don't find the VIN on the crossmember, look on the sides and back of the frame.



The VIN is 17 digits long and the 10th letter will tell you the year it was made. Find this letter and post back and we'll help you figure this out.
