Been out of the atv world a long time. Recently got a 15 Honda 420 rancher. Put outlaw 2 tires on it and love it. Just bought a used 06 rancher 400. With some shifting issues, I think it’s going to be electronic issues. Anyway glad to be here. I have a lot of questions.

Welcome to the forum. If that is you sitting on the ATV, you could not have been out of the ATV world for very long. LOL

Please give us a little more information about your ATVs.
2015 Honda Rancher 420 - is it a FE, FA, FM, TE or TM?
2006 Honda Rancher 400 - is it FA or EX?

If you don't post the full description of your ATV it will be difficult for members to help you. Please include this information in the Title of your post. For example, 2015 Rancher 420FM Idle Problem.

The 400 could be anything, but from my experiences it was usually a connector either dirty & lose. Easy to check (1st)vs pulling parts.

I’d have to look at the 420 to see exactly which model... the 06 actually is an 05. I have fat thumbs. Lol. It’s a 05 trx400 FA. I did the systems check last night, and got error code 4. Which is the tps. All specs check except I can’t get a short across the positive and negative pins on the sensor itself. I have continuity from the plug to the ecm. So I’m headed out to get one this morning. Also when I put it in reverse, it spits and sputters not wanting to take the gear. I assume it goes back to the tps? We shall see.

Oh, no thats not me. That’s my mini me on the 420. Lol
