I've recently replaced both clutches in my 300 and now so far, I've had the oil temp light come on twice since then. Once durring a long drive down a gravel road in 5th gear (not full throttle) and once again tonight pulling a drag harrow around. Its nice and cool here.. probably 60 degrees right now. Before the clutch change the light only came on one time. That was when I was also pulling the drag harrow but it was a hot day. I then unhooked and drove down the road a ways to get some air moving and it went out. NOW when it comes on it NEVER goes out until its completely cooled off. Is it possible the connection to the sensor is dirty and needs to be cleaned? would new clutches with heavier springs cause this? I don't know if I should "trust the light" or ignore it.

I don't think the new clutches and heavy springs would cause the oil temp light to come on. I would pull the oil temp sensor and check it.

both times the light has come on since the clutch change, has been under "nomral driving conditions" for me anyway. I should also mention that before the clutch change and even now the light doesn't come on for its test light when you turn the key all the time. Usually only after its warmed up would it come on with a KEY ON switch.

I do have a manual but I haven't looked if it says how to check the sensor? is there a way to test it?
Yeah, it should tell in the service manual. I think you have to heat it in oil and check resistance with an ohmmeter.

Either oil temp sensor is bad or the alarm unit bad.
