Hi all

I have purchased a 420 fourtrax.

Recently noticed that the head of the cylinder has 2 screw's or look like them.

They are leaking oil.

Looked online and looks like I can buy a cylinder head for replacement.

Before I do this is it a quick fix to repair or is there anything I can do without having to spend 250+ on parts.

Thought I'd ask the experts before I go ahead and jump in full guns blazing.

You need a head gasket on it thats a... if not one of the valve guide pins might of worked its self a bit loose. Nothing major but buy a manual read and do not waste money on parts by backyard mechanics. Read understand and go from there.

Update.

So I removed the petrol tank and exposed the top of the engine.

The shift rocker arm had ground down like hell on the right side.

one of the bolts on the top had snapped off from previous owner.

There wasn't any brass washers on top of the gasket potentially cause of the oil leak..

I've ordered.

2 rocker arms
2 washers
2 Gasket bolts
1 new Gasket
2 O rings
Air filter
Oil filter
Spark plug
3 litres of oil
For the same price as a new cylinder head gasket.
