I have a 2007 rancher 400 4x4 its been smoking really bad out of the exhaust I thought it was the head gasket and when I pulled the airbox off to start tearing it down I found oil in it up to the air filter and when I took the box off I started it and it was puking oil out of the blow by can anyone help me figure this out? im stumped lol

The rings are shot.
While its smoking it also pumping compression into the crank case which pushes oil out the vent into the airbox.

i rebuilt it not to long ago it ran perfect until a couple weeks ago it doesnt even have 100 miles on the rebuild thats what I dont understand

Does it get ridden in mud much?
My 01 rancher had the seal in the pull start go, this sucked mud into the motor, wearing the rings out in a tank of gas of two. After the second rebuild I figured out what was wrong and sold it.
There's a block off plate for the pull start to fix the dirt getting in problem but you also need to flush the motor and replace the oil cooler if this is what's happening.
It could also be a crappy piston and rings if they're not OEM.
