Hi just picked this quad up on trade, replaced oil with Shell Rotella T6 Synthetic ,after loosening up gunk with Seafoam. Also changed Front and rear Differential with Lucas Synthetic Gear Oil. She runs amazingly different, stronger and faster. It has 4, 825 miles on it and since I've never owned one I was wondering how many more miles she has left in her ? Thanks in advance , Shaun ✌

It all depends. If you idle it around the yard it will last a long long time, if you try to ride it under water it won't last any time at all.

I just redid a 2010 Rancher, shows 1500 mile on the odometer. It had some sand in the bottom of the case; so looks like it had been sunk. Needed a new crank, bunch of new bearings, new cylinder, new piston, and new timing chain.

First thing's first, you need to drain that T6 and change it with T4. The manuals in the older bikes specifically say not to use synthetic oil. That being said, my 04 350 has been big bored, gear reduced, and converted to footshift and still runs strong after years of being run through deep mud and the occasional deep water hole. Stay on top of your maintenance and it should last a long time.

Hey Shaun,
I have an 02 ES stable hand with 7900 miles of hauling hay and pushing manure. I use it now for pushing snow and as a litter getter.i like the 12inch Foreman wheels on it
Regular maintenance
Don’t abuse it
Parts especially for the ES display at some point will not be available so i see that as a weak link in the sustainment plan

My neighbor is a mechanic at my local atv shop. He services Oil field atv’s (all Honda’s) mostly Rancher 420’s, he said they have several with 20,000 plus miles on them and a few with 30,000 plus miles on them. They have them serviced regularly, they don’t run them through deep mud or water and they don’t run them wide open all day.

Why would you convert it to foot shift ?
I like the shifter on the handle bars much much better.
Doesent hurt my foot and leg.

I have an 05 ES rancher 350..
It's the most bullet proof machine I've ever owned.
Two sets of rear tires.. one battery.
Keep maintained. It'll last forever.

It's converted to foot shift because I prefer foot shift, the bike has been gear-reduced by 30% and gear reductions don't play nice with the ES system, and trying to shift with my left thumb makes it really hard to hold a beer while I'm riding. Priorities.
