On I got a 2006 forman es it's a customer's bike looking for where to start first he says sometimes it shifts and sometimes it doesnt could it be the grease in the shift grs are the angle sensor are shift motor

could be as easy as a BAD weak battery too
start with the simple and rule things out from there
battery, grease, then angle sensor and likes would be my route here!

I the batter's do that to the newer ones but didn't know that it did the to the older ones I was going to degrease the shift motor grs and check the shift motor first then the angle sensor he said it mainly does it when it's hot so it could be the shift motor getting to hot are something

my brother in laws bike has the es and it started giving him problems one day. shift in the morning but after riding few minutes it would get stuck in gear. changing the battery helped for about an hour but it would get back to that same problem. i ended up having to change the shift motor for him, to much water and dirt just made it where we couldn't clean it and put it back on. but since then he hasn't had any trouble
