The 2006 foreman 500 no longer uses a separate neutral switch in the engine, only a reverse switch on the rear crankcase - older models had two switches on the rear case.
Neutral is now found in the Lg/R wire on the gear position switch in the engine on both the FM and FE models. You can use a multimeter and see if there is any signal coming from the gear position switch when the quad is in neutral by poking the light green / red wire. If there is no signal you need a new switch or diode, if there is signal then trace it to the J/C4 junction block, all the light green / red wires should be connected together. The 4 junction blocks appear to be behind the front shock under the tank (in front of the coil) by the picture in the manual.
It could also be a blown diode - the foreman uses a 3 way diode in the fusebox.
It is a bit confusing though, the microfiche shows a neutral switch at the back of the engine for the 2006 foreman but the wiring diagram does not, only a reverse switch.
Which model is your foreman? FA, FGA, FE, FPE, FM, or TM?
