Quad ran great all weekend...when to start it up mountains and nothing. No neutral light on. After many youtube videos and reading forums still can not get to start...

-Battery is reading 12.35 V. Even with trying to jump...nothing
-If bump started, runs through gears fine. While riding no lights I tried to turn on... BUT in neutral if given gas it kinD of bogs down like I cant fully rev it.
-Replaced 15A fuse...nothing.
-Trying to jump solenoid...it will crank but not start.
-When bump started the neutral light is VERY dim, and again light do not work.
-I rechecked and cleaned all connections.
-Next to clutch the neutral/reverse plug I took out and cleaned and put back on...still nothing.

I am getting close to taking to a shop but the charge $130 just to look at it.

Please Help!!! I am oddly enjoying figuring this out but am beginning to get frustrated. I am close to going to buying an new battery just to see if that is issue despite the Voltage readings.

There should be a wire going down by the shifter. It runs down next to the front sprocket. It goes to the neutral safety switch. If it comes unplugged or that switch goes bad you wont get the neutral indicator light and it wont crank over. It will also kill spark when jumping the solenoid and will bump start fine but the cdi could do some weird stuff when in neutral. Because its not seeing the signal from the switch. I would check that wire and connector for sure.

Are you referring to the wire on the 'inside' of the shifter...I can find one that has a N and R on it and that was cleaned and plugged in securely...still nothing.

If I am not following perhaps past a pic or link please? Is it a solo wire, any specific color?

Thank you for your response I am trying to figure this out!!

On an 04 it should have been a single wire. N would be neutral. R would be reverse? 04s dont have reverse? So the wire harness on your bike must be from an 05+
