Sounds like ya learned something there buddy, which is always a good thing! Just stinks that ya had to go through all that to fix it, and at least ya didn't have enough time on that fresh motor to really bake those gaskets and didn't mess any of them up on the tear down, so saved ya some money there. I bet next time you actually look for that crazy crap during a tear down! That's just nuts man, but live and learn, I dang sure did for sure, definitely a mental note for tha future! Kudos brother, another FINE job, beautiful build!!!!

update: all back together, valves are set and sound great. she needs a washing, and then ....done !!.

Glad you got it fixed.

Saw you called yesterday. I was on the tractor bush-hogging so didn't hear it ring. I was also drinking a lot of beer. By the time the ujoint on the PTO shaft grenaded on me I don't think you could have understood anything I said.

I'm paying for it this morning too.

lmao^^^, still need to get it out of the shop, and give her some slow moving testing ?, but I am sure its fixed..thanks to you and your parts !. I did not need the gaskets you sent ?, mine were still in great shape, I can send them back if ya want ?, or keep them for a later time, up to you. you can see in the pic ^^^, how Honda dropped the ball on this..sheshh. back then, I was not looking for gear dogs short/long/short like that ?..I was looking for worn/busted/bad places ?..not that crap ^^^..lol.

Yeah, just drop them in the mail when it's convenient. No hurry. I've got a couple of machines to fix before I get into the 07 I picked up early this summer.

Glad you got it fixed, but man on man I know how it sucks to have to tear a motor down right after you get it back together. Horrible feeling, but at least now it's done and that 1st gear should never be a problem in the future on that bike.

i'll get these gaskets in the mail when I can. and this is not the first time I've had to tear a motor right back apart after getting it buttoned up ?, just not after I put it all back in the frame , and all back on the atv !!..lmao. i'm sure it won't be my last either !!!!..lmao.

Awesome man! And you can wash mine when your done with it, lol! Got my stuff from G&H today and they didn't send my valve cover! I didn't know I didn't need to send it, so just sent everything as a unit, so I pray tbey can find it and send it back ASAP for the weekend! I can't win for loosing lmao! My wife was very impressed with the build, showed her all the pics before, during and after, and she was blown away! That's saying something too because that kind of stuff doesn't do a thing for her, but she was getting into all the pics and pointing things out, I gotta kick out of her! So be on the lookout, she said something about building her one now, which BLEW ME AWAY!
