That'll clean up nice. for the price you got it, I would replace all the plastic pieces, I've done rebuilds in the past where I mixed and matched new to old, and it just don't look that great once the armor all wears off :)

Now that's a steal. You owe jeep big time!

I would be very hesitant to run that crank. just looking at the silt in the bottom of the engine, you wont get all of that out of the rod bearing without disassembly.

ive had great luck with hot rods bottom end kits on the last 3 motors. grizzly 450, grizzly 660, and rzr 800.

Havent had to replace a Honda crank yet.

Also, not sure how these shafts are inside the trans, but as you already know, be very careful with those bearings inside, the last grizzly 450 I did, they were smoked from particulates. had to replace the entire trans assembly, every bearing was bad. including case bearings.

honestly leaving it unpainted looks better in my opinion.

once the paint gets worn and dirt/mud get on it, they don't look so good.

after you get it all put together, give it a good spray down with eagle one mag cleaner. that'll take all the grimy areas and make them clean as a whistle.

this is why I don't shop with partzilla, I simply call rocky mountain and have them price match partzilla. takes an extra 10 minutes, but my parts are guaranteed to be on my door step in 3 business days.

that is unless the part is not in stock. then you twittle your thumbs for a week.

I'm never that lucky, mine always are way too tight, requiring thinner shims. maybe its because these aftermarket bearings are slightly oversize on the diameter where they mesh with the shims.

ive rebuilt 5 now. every one of them when you put them back together take a severe amount of torque to get them spinning. comparing them to a good differential, I shim them to the same amount of torque needing to be applied to spin, and backlash.

all owners have been happy campers for several thousand miles.

That's the advantage with rocky mountain atv. even if they don't have the part in stock, it wont be longer then 6-9 business days before it ships.

The price matching on every part can be a bit tiresome, but on this last rzr engine rebuild I did, it saved me over $300. on top of that, you get the bonus bucks for every purchase, I actually got a UMP filter for free on my last purchase from bonus bucks.

I will have to give east Toledo a try, always nice to save the customer money on OEM parts.

shade, where did you buy your hot rods crank kit?

I have to install a new crank in a '03 450. but I cannot find a crank kit anywhere for this thing.

about the only solution I have found is send the original off to mr.crankhaft in Kentucky.
