Hi guys, I have some techie questions about exhaust. I am looking to replace the can on my 07 Recon. I have found a couple (Pro Circuit and FMF) but nobody seems to have any numbers or charts to back up their hp gain claims. Anybody have any info on that or does anybody know of the best muffler I should go with? I am loving my Recon, and I am a light guy so I have been places most guys can't get, done some crazy trails, towed 4x4s out of the mud, etc. But of course I need to squeeze a little more out. Never good enough. Know any other upgrades I should be interested in? Thanks in advance!

HMF makes the swamp series pipe, great pipe. Those claims that all the companies make about their gains is in PERFECT conditions. This is on a Dyno machine in a humidity and temp. controlled atmosphere. To duplicate their gains you would need a Dyno machine. Most pipes when jetted correctly will give you a 1-2 hp gain. When you install a new Head pipe that will give you another 2-3 hp. So out of a complete system you can see a 3-5 hp gain(average)

You could always go the route of an aftermarket cam too...

I couldn't find a head pipe or a cam for the late model Recon. I also couldn't find any lit on how to jet the carb to the pipes. Maybe I'm an idiot but I couldn't find any details at all. Just mufflers for sale.
