Hi all. Glad I found this site. I bought a '85 atc 70 last summer at a yard sale. Have soooo enjoyed riding it! Sat most of the winter, got it out couple weeks ago. Having a few issues.... so thought Id come here to read and maybe find some assistance. Oh, and Im not your typical atc fan: I'm a female. LOL. Today, after not being able to ride for a couple of days, I took the carb off, to see if I could locate the problem (wouldnt stay running). After I took it off, I opened the fuel filter and discovered it to be completely clogged with gunk. Cleaned it out; then checked the tubes coming out of that (where the fuel flows from the tank) - one of them was completely plugged. Soaked it for awhile, then took the air compressor to it - finally got it cleaned out too. I also filled the tank with the gas I had drained, shook it around in there real well, and emptied it again. Did that twice.... looks kinda rusty-ish. Got everything back together, and I can now ride again. However, it just doesn't seem to have very good power. Like, I cannot climb a hill in second, I have to put it down to first gear to get up a hill. Any ideas??
