Have a little issue,my son has a TRX90 and it runs for about 10min,seems like it gets warm and looses spark, cools down starts back up.Did notice the neutral light doesnt always work to start it so he puts it in first gear and rocks it till the light comes on to be able to start it.Any ideas its a 2006.I was thinking it was the stator so i pulled it cleaned it up and found no defects, checked all wiring to the key, coil and regulator but all looks good. thanks for all replies

Welcome to the forums. I would check the resistance across the ignition coil, primary and secondary windings and see if they are within specs. Sorry, I don't have a repair manual for that quad, so I don't know how many Ohms it should read.

Welcome to the forums.... I agree with Helmut I think your coil may be breaking down.

ok i will try that.If that is the problem do all years interchange or just 06 to present.I know that from 05 and down the stators are different among other things.thanks for the info
I'm not sure what years would interchange, but I'm sure a lot of them will. Just go to Motorcycle Parts, Motorcycle Accessories ? BikeBandit.com and click on "OEM Parts" and look up the different years of your quad and see if the part numbers for the ignition coil are the same. That will tell you what years will work.

wow this forum kicks a$$ found so much info already, but I dont see to many people building big290 or 310 motors on methanol.I have a cr250 build with a 77.5 mm crank, stock bore I race and puts out about 96.3 hp on a dyno, I wonder how that would work in a quad chassis
