Hello!
I'm actually the newbie's wife posting here for my hubby who doesn't have time, so please bear with me, especially if my terminology is wrong. A little background first:
We are missionaries to Uganda and sent over a new 2015 Rancher for our use, as we live in a remote area on a hill on Lake Victoria. Right before Christmas, we were involved in an accident on the 4x. A motorcycle taxi came around the corner at a high speed on the wrong side of the road and we basically t-boned him. He laid down the bike and we hit, coming to an abrupt stop, going head over heels over the handlebars. For the most part, everyone was fine, and his bike sustained only a bent foot peg.
The Rancher did not fair so well. We had to repair replace the following: steering tie rods, bushings, power steering, handle bars bent, headlight damage, torn tire, cracked and broken wheel, alignment, wheel bearings. Of course, that was a blast, as we had to have the parts brought from the States.
So, there's the background.
We have an amazing jack-of-all-trades out here who fixed most of it and got it back up and running. Two problems remain. The first is that the handlebars are still crooked (you know on a bicycle, when you have to hold the front tire between your knees and twist the handle bars?), the second is that the power steering light is on, and power steering is very obviously not working.
That said, any detailed advice you can give would be so good. I assume this is just a starting point. We can upload any pictures, I can get more info if necessary. This is my only option, as there are no Honda service centers here!
Thanks!
