I am a new owner of a free "broken" 86 Fourtrax. I gave it fresh oil, gas and a sparkplug and it is running perfect! As I was driving it around for the first time oil started to spray from the CV boot. Yippee I thought. I assume I need to change the outer boot, but I will search this forum first to see what else could be up as I know nothing about this issue. Thanks for the site. I can't wait to hunt around and give my own advise down the road!

Welcome to the forums. Yeah, sounds like the boot has a hole in it and will need to be changed. It shouldn't really have much pressure in it, though. It shouldn't shoot out, it should just leak out a little.

Disregard the previous post. I found out in your other thread that it wasn't a CV boot that you were talking about. It was the rubber boot over the u-joint that connects the output shaft with the driveshaft.
