ive got a 2001 300ex so im told. the prob is the timing chain came off and i dont know how to set it the number on the block is TE19E-2005569 is this a 300ex motor also the number on the jug is 281cm any help would be great thanks all

timing chain coming off??? only if there is some other issue like a broken guide or tensioner. is the reverse lever on the left side of the engine, is it chain or shaft drive?

yes the revers shifter is on the left side in front of the gear shifter.and it is chain drive. i took it apart and the timing chain was loose when i put it back on but the ten was stuck i fixed that and now its tight i just dont know how to set the timing. thanks for helping out
