Having recently retired from a career in mental health I now find myself facing mechanical problems. While attempting to haul a boat trailer from shallow water with my Honda Four Trax it stalled while in gear. I am unable to move the gear lever and as a result cannot restart the vehicle. Open to any or all suggestions. Alan

welcome. give it a good rocking back and forth, while shifting back to neutral, it should pop back down. if any stress is on the tranny ?, it will be kinda hard to down shift, but it will shift back down, just takes some rocking to do so :).

I think Shade hit it ----------------- disconnect the trailer and get the strain off of it , then rock it back and forth while trying to shift ----if you can't disconnect where it is then give it a nudge with another atv , truck or a winch if you have one , while trying to shift
