Welcome to the forums. The VIN number should be stamped on the front of the frame, it can't be peeled off. It would have to be ground off. The sticker on the front of the frame just tells the year. If you can find the VIN number, I can tell you what size and year it is.

and if the vin numbers have been ground off..if i were you..i'd think twice about going out and ridding it..and getting stoped..a ground off vin number is never a good sign !.

A 250EX has no hand clutch it's a foot shift only, a 300ex has a clutch, a 250X has a kick start and a clutch. Revers for both the 300ex and 250X is a lever on the left side of the engine that you pull up.

it has a clutch and a rev. at first they said it was a 400 but i know for a fact it can not be so i was more thinking of a 300 or 250 also have no kick start only eletric
It's probably the 300EX, because it has electric start and no kick start. The 250X just has kick start and no electric start. If it is a 250EX, it wouldn't be chain drive, it would be shaft drive.

Welcome to the forums. The oil filter is located toward the front of the engine up under the bottom, under a cover with one bolt holding it on.
