I have an 05' Honda Rancher and am having trouble getting in reverse with the electric shift!

Do they have the foot shifter and if so how hard is it to get into reverse with it?

It does have a tool to put on the gear shift shaft on left side of engine and it works with that and easily goes into reverse.

Yeah it really sounds like you may have a connection problem... did this happen all of a sudden? were you in any mud,water?

05 Rancher shift problems

Yes I think it is giving a 8 code, not real sure I am doing it correctly. It will shift fine through all foward gears up and down shifting but will not go in reverse with the electric shift, however it will go into reverse with the manual lever.
