Thanks alot any Idea of a fair value for that bike
I'm more of a utility ATV guy and I don't know that much about the mods and aftermarket parts, but a stock ATV like that, usually sells for about $1,600-$2,000 around where I live. Some of these guys on here that owns the 400EX will be able to give you a better idea on the price with the aftermarket parts. Also, prices usually vary depending on location.

I will be using it for trail riding the trails get real muddy wit a little rain so there is mud water and parts of the trails are pretty rough. Also what is the reason for wider axels and a arms? Are there drawbacks from that?

The widened stance is to help you in the turns, mainly a MX and desert/dune mod. For trails and woods, you will want the stock width. If the rear tires are 18's, you will want the stock size of 20 inches for trails.

If you friend has been riding long, have him check out the EX and ride it around, give it a thorough look see. EX's are very easy to work on, so if it does have a problem or two, they may be minor.

Agree^^^^^^^^^ Pain is 100% right! I would try what he said. I see 400ex around here for sale usually around 1500 to 2500 depending on year and shape. Usually a stock quad goes for the same price as a modded quad. My friend just sold his 02 400ex and got 1900. It had way more mods than that quad does. Top of the line everything.
If you want more details let me know.

Thanks for all the info guys.My only concern is how well it will peform with the aftermarket axels and A arms in the woods and mud. Im not an expert rider so I dont know if I will know how it should be preforming,as long as it fits on the trails and doesent get stuck in mud water I will be happy .He said it is now 4 inches wider.

he said he would take 1,800 I want to give him 1,600 but dont want to insult the guy.
If you want to pay 16, then offer him 14 and meet in the middle. If he gets insulted at someone negotiating a sale price, then he's not from this planet.
Yeah, I agree with Pain. If you were selling one, I'm sure he would probably be trying to get yours cheaper. I know when I sell one, almost everybody tries to get me to come down on the price. Most people will price stuff for more than they will actually take, anyway.
