Is anyone buying new plastics for their trx300? I see front and rear fenders available for under $150 each (mine is a 99 model) but shipping is pretty rough at around $150. I'm just curious if they're available at local dealers for around the same price, but without the shipping charge. I'd call my local dealer and ask, but they're terrible and I stopped dealing with them. I was thinking of finding another dealer a little further away, depending on the markup and availability.

I was really just curious of any of you went that route and what the cost was.

I normally buy my fenders from either rocky mountain atv, or partzilla, depending on who has them in stock ?. both places have a min order to get free shipping, partzilla was 149 bucks to get free shipping, not checked lately ?. rocky mountain atv will price match partzilla, so keep that in mind if partzilla does not have them in stock ?. your problem is going to be if any dealers even still sell them ?, as most parts for the trx300's are being done away with slowly every day.

Just don't be surprised if Partzilla puts your order on hold to tell you there will be a shipping surcharge.

We all like free shipping, but let's face it, shipping fenders is going to cost any company $$$ and they can either pass that cost to you or lose money on the transaction. Paulie at Honda East got chewed out when I ordered a rear rack for a 680 Rincon and he said he would ship the order free (big order). Ended up costing them about $75 to ship that rack, and they only marked it up about $15, so they lost money on my order. He honored his "free shipping" offer on the order, got his butt chewed by his boss, and said going forward for big stuff he'd have to charge me shipping (actual, not the inflated BS most companies charge now).

Companies don't exist to make you happy, they exist to make money.

Any Honda dealership should be able to get what Partzilla can get. They don't stock most of their parts, they order them from Honda after you place your order.

If you look at the Partzilla site, you'll see retail prices, which is what most Honda dealerships charge.

And yes, I have a NOS set of tan fenders and flares I bought a couple of years ago, simply because they WILL quit making them, likely sooner rather than later, and when they do they will get stupid expensive.

Good point. When it comes to shipping, I know prices vary a lot, though. Larger vendors can make deals with shipping companies, which lowers their costs. Sometimes I'm amazed by some of the prices I pay for parts (I have a bunch of project vehicles) even with free shipping. I might pay a fraction of the price my local parts stores charge and get free shipping. When I try to ship something, it seems like it's expensive. I guess I know where they're making their money.

Have you checked carolinacycle.com? There front fenders are $116 and the rears are $125, if I am looking at the right ones. Use the code freeship99 for free shipping on orders over $99. Not sure if they will still charge shipping on "oversized" items like fenders or not...worth checking into though.
