Hey everyone i just joined this forum. I have a 2000 Honda rancher 350, manual shift 2wd. My rancher will not start because it will not go into neutral. When you push it it will roll backwards with ease but not forwards. Almost as if it is stuck in reverse. I have replaced all fuses. Tried shifting up and down in and out of reverse with no luck. Any advice?

Ahh a Sherbet colored Rancher— very nice

Check your shifter lever to see if the bolt is loose. Is the shifter tight on the shifter shaft?

Does the shaft rotate when you raise the lever? Do you hear the selection “click?” Perhaps the shifter return spring has broken

Has your reverse lever in the left brake perch become stuck? Make sure it oscillates freely.

Report your findings
