I'm looking at purchasing a 1999 Honda 300 that needs brake work done on the front and rear. What kind of job am I getting into and what type of price am I looking at? The ATV is in great shape and hasn't been abused. As stated, it just needs the front and rear brakes replaced. Any help anyone could give me is appreciated. Thanks

As someone who doesn't know much about ATV's and once bought a machine that needed brake work, I don't think it's that hard. If you are somewhat mechanically inclinded then it's a simple job. If that is all the machine needs, then take a couple hundred bucks off the price and buy it.

I can buy the ATV for $1500 and I would be the 3rd owner of it. It's in great shape for its age. Is that a good price for it. From all the information I have seen and current prices. It appears to be a good deal. I also know the ATV has been taken care of and know its history. Rides smooth as I rode it yesterday when considering on purchasing it. What I'm wanting this ATV for is to use for hunting and general riding around for scouting purposes during the off season of hunting.

Welcome to the forums! when replacing the brakes consider replacing the cables also as they do get worn out and nasty and just won't work as good.

Brakes are pretty easy to do.$1500 sounds good but try for $1200.

If brakes is all it needs, then $1,500 ain't bad.
