hi guys new member hear from uk, ive used honda quads most my life mostly the 450 forman

ime a full time mole catcher who dose a bit of welding and fab work on the side!

currently own a 2004 honda fm and a 2004 fourtrax es....and the es is being a real pain!
i bought it as small expansion of my business and was told it needed a new rectifier so that was duly fitted, but now it seems to have no power at all ie when the ignition is turned on theirs no dash display and it obviously has no life to turn over, thou it will start with the pull cord first time, i have charged the battery.

currently waiting on a new battery to arrive as well as a swing arm bearing and new seat cover

Welcome , I have a Foreman 450 , in the fuse box is a diode , a black square piece that is about twice the width of a fuse , if it goes bad I know it won't start by the button and will by the pull start , that kinda fits your problem , also check the fuse holders as I have had to cut the wires to one fuse and install a in-line fuse holder

A mole catcher ! I am hunting moles right now around my house , they are making a mess of the lawn , I got one of the spring loaded spiked traps but have yet to get one with it , my best way has been to flood the tunnels with a hose and sometimes they pop out , I have got 3 that way but there are more , any tricks to getting rid of them !

Water the yard and then take a bunch of electric cords out and split the ends and put big metal spikes in them. Plug them in and sit out with the shot gun and have some fun with the moles lol They theoretically should come out of the ground like night crawlers do or get electrocuted and fry, either way its a win..

Got to give it to you Larry , that sounds like fun , and 74 in a day would be a good hunt and your arm would be hurting

This is the trap I am using , do they work ?

Gas (propane) down the hole, give it a minute and light it. Don't over do the propane though, it will blow the turf off your back yard

Hahaha... I used butane here at work for one hole, I learnt quickly with the quantity of gas needed!! Literally a quick count to 3 or 4 is plenty, I counted a slow 5 or 6 seconds (face palm)!!

The mole was nowhere in sight but he had no hole to go back to that's for sure, was more like and elongated crater

I never had mole trouble before to this year , must be all the rain driving them to high ground ( my house ) ----------- I recently stuck the garden hose in the tunnel full blast and it took 5 minutes till water started coming up out the ground 50 ft away , didn't get nothing on that hunt but I have not seen a new tunnel yet ------Larry got me thinking , I have an electric fence around a coral , if I used that shock box , maybe I could get them to pop up ----- what about those ultra sonic sound devices
