Hey folks im a newbie here. Just upgraded from the old 1989 300 utility farm machine to a 2000 300ex sport. Heck of a difference. But as always im trying to modify and improve, and i've been told 400ex arms and shocks will bolt on up front. Couple questions- 1) does it make a noticeable difference in handling and suspension? I do alot of small jumps and bumps and it does pretty good, but a little better would be nice. 2) What else needs to be done and how? Obviously tie rod ends gotta be swapped but thats straightforward. Looks like brake lines would need to be replaced, but ive never messed with them and not sure how to lengthen them. and 3) what would it cost? I'm not trying to spend the big bucks since this isnt a brand new machine and I dont need top of the line or anything. Thanks in advance for the help.

Welcome to the forums! If you decide to change the a-arms i have a set of 07 trx 450er stock arms and tie rods i would be willing to sell at a good savings.

The 400ex ones are a 2" difference on both sides and the shock upgrade is great. You do have to modify or buy the kit from diamond j customs for the shock relocator kit. The break lines do work fine for the 400ex a-arms that is mine havent given me any trouble. And the tie rods off a 400 just mount right up. The difference is pretty great in the handling department. I always flipped before i did the 400ex swap. Now i can gun it around corners and theres no way its gunna flip. The 450r ones will fit but im not sure on the difference width wise.

They are giving you the right info. The only thing you really need other than the arms from a 400ex or 450r is the to modify your shock mount or buy the kit. I would suggest if you can get some 450r shocks they would me a much better upgrade over the 400ex shocks.

If you want the a-arms i have they were 2 months old when i took them off and put aftermarket on $100 + shipping, let me know. the ball joints are all good still look pretty much like new and wii include tie rods but no ends, a set of used stock shocks will run you between $100 and 200 depending on where you find some.

Go with the 450R shocks they offer a better conering stabitily if you want a softer ride use the 400ex shocks either one you choose will need the relocator kit in order for them to remain on the proper axis.

I looked at the relocation bracket on the website and it looks pretty straightforward- any reason I cant fab one up myself instead of payin 100 bucks? As long as i knew how far away from the stock location it needs to be mounted.
