Hey my name is Andrew and i am from kentucky, currently in afganistan serving in the army. Anyways I plan on buying a sport quad when I get back at the end of the year. I am not new to riding atvs but never have had much time on a sport quad. I am looking at either a 250x or 300x just wanted to know if these bikes are too little for me or if they are the way to go for a newbie. Also I am about 6ft 175lbs.. Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome to the forums. I don't ride a lot of sport quads but someone will help you out shortly. Glad to see another Ky. Member on here.

I would really consider bumping up to a 400. The 250 and the 300 are going to be fun but you will probably be at the top of the power band at all times. Once you get comfortable on the 250 or 300 you will be wanting more. Just my opinion.

Thank you for serving, come home safe...

Welcome to the forums and thanks for serving. I agree with Red. I would consider the 400EX to start with.

Welcome to the forums and thanks for your service in the Army! Just go all out and get the TRX450 ER the 400 EX is a great machine but you will out grow the power and want more when you comfortable riding get the 450 and get use to it and you will love it.

I agree^^^^ but I bet after riding in one of these there really isn't too many things where power is an issue drivetrain or ammo..LOL thank you for all that you do for our freedom.

Thanks for all the replies. I think the 400x would be the best option. I just didnt know if it would be good for someone pretty new to riding a sport atv. Anyways thanks for the support. Have been doing this Army thing for 6 yrs so it seems natural for me to be here. lol

The 400X is not a machine that will bite you if you accidentally blip the gas too much. It is a very controllable quad. But it also has the room to upgrade and make it a top contender...

The 400 is a great place to start! I live near Elizabethtown Ky. I ride a 400ex. When you get back just get hold of me and I will let you ride mine to see what you think.
Welcome to the Family!!! Thank You for fighting for our freedoms!!
