Hey guys, another new kid that doesnt know to much about his quads. Ive got a 01 Recon and a 04 250ex. Only thing is thing is my 250ex now has two monster holes in the side of the crankcase. Not sure what else got damaged, but im thankful my leg didnt get hurt. Anyone ever punch a hole in the side of a 250's crankcase? Not on purpose....

Thanks guys!

How did you punch a hole in the side of the case?
As the story goes, about a month ago i submerged it while it was running on accident(beaver dam was about 6in on one side, 6ft on the other!), did 5-6 oil changes til the oil came out clear after running it after the 2nd oil change. A small tick was evident when it idled but would go away after a while. So today i decided to try some STP Octane Boost with 93 octane(always have run 93 in it), then went wheeling, about 2hrs later on the way home, bang! Wasnt pinning it, just 4th gear half throttle.

problem solved on all honda es units

There is a company that manufactures a hand and foot shifter and an aftermarket shift module for the 250 recon es , 350 rancher es, and the 450 foreman es. The hand and foot shifter both, use a hex pattern attatchment , to fit all of the es units and they bolt on , i didnt even need to do any drilling , the hand shifter is 16 inches tall and is very solid. The foot shifter is also perfect , even if you are wearing big boots and neither will fall off because they are bolted on. these shifters will ONLY FIT the es models. Their shift module only has six wires and it bypasses all of the troubled areas of the es models both can be installed in minutes with standard hand tools. the site is docsatvservice.com they really helped me
