Hi,
I bought a 2004 Honda Rancher from Craigslist. I wanted something used, but in good condition... duh.
My plans are to use it for hunting. It's a one owner, 750 miles, registered last in 2008. Anyways, I swapped the tires for ITP mud lite II's and adding a 2" rear trailer hitch, for a hauler rack.

Welcome aboard!! What a great looking unit and essentially new. As a suggestion and before getting it too shaken up, I would clean the gas tank out. As you know, that year has a carburetor, so I would avoid getting any gremlins in there from sitting, replace the fuel with great fuel/additive. Please note, this is the precaution side of me and I would also do a full service to get a baseline, i.e., air filter, oils (engine/differentials, using Wet Clutch and hypoid, respectively) and spark plug to establish a good baseline.

Thanks for the warm welcome!!!

As for the going through part, the previous owner just had it serviced with a new battery for a total of $419!!! I have the receipt....
It also has a winch!!!
As an irritation... trying to find a 2" receiver hitch for this wasn't easy as it should be. But I finally found one.

One more thing.... finding out that Honda rear rims are 11" and fronts are 12" made tire searching VERY limited.
A friend gave me some Yamaha rear 12" rims and after refinishing them, bought the ITP tires. This is before the ATV ever left my garage!! I'm too picky.
