i replaced the fuel pump on my honda rancher 420 and now it wont start do i have to prime it first if so how?

Did you check to see if fuel is coming into the cylinder?

Yea there was but I was told that had to be primed for it to work wich I didn't try because I'm not sure how

Hi: Did you open the Petcock after install? Do you hear the fuel pump prime?

Yes everything sounded normal

Was it running before you changed the fuel pump? The fuel pump is inside the gas tank, right? If so, there is no priming needed.

The fuel pump is inside a separate assembly from the gas tank reason for changing it is because when my engine gets warm it start idles from high to low and didn't know if it would fix it
