That's a custom design from when I used to go to the OBX a lot. I have a truck tent that I would set up in the bed, and then all my gear went in the rack. It holds a cooler, 7 gallons of water, various boxes with waders, tackle, food, etc. All the comforts of home, on wheels.

I haven't used the rack for 10 years, and then I was thinking about buying a trailer to haul the quad, and the lightbulb went off. So I got the rack out of the garage rafters and there you go. :D

Being the owner of a similar sized truck,a Ford Ranger, I know the pain of finding space with a quad in the bed.

It's a '93. I bought it from the original owner in '94, and it only has 78k on it now. It's been a great truck. I think I need to get the rear shocks replaced and/or beef up the springs a bit. Looks to be sitting low with that quad in there.

I should be able to get another 20 years out of it at his pace.

That's great man! I can't wait for Dec-Feb we go down to oregon Inlet and fish all night long for sharks and daylight we hop in the boat and go striper fishing.
Where are you from?

Hey Moose, you will appreciate this being from east NC. Here's my truck with a Hatteras rack on front and a quad in the back.

My version of Surf & Turf. ;)

Northern VA, outside DC. I grew up in Winchester. I used to go down to Hatteras a lot back in the 90's, and then my brother moved down there. I didn't have to camp any longer and since his truck had a rack I stopped taking mine. As time went on I went less and less and eventually stopped going, so the rack just collected dust in the garage.

Now it's got a new job hauling stuff for the quad. My wife and I purchased some land out in WV, and I needed a way to pack supplies back and forth. Works great. Hauled a generator, gas, water and a cooler out there last weekend, with the quad in the back.

I'm north of you probably about 3-4 hours, in Moorefield. I bought 20 acres that borders the 10,000 acre Nathanial Mountain wildlife management area.

My father was from Poca and my mother Wayne, near Huntington. I'm a little familiar with Fayette county, only from traveling through there.

But when you have a quad and a Rhino, the trailer is full of toy! The Ranger doesn't have enough power to pull a bigger trailer. I load my truck down, 360lbs quad in the bed and a 1200lbs Rhino on my 6x10 trailer. I need a bigger truck so I can get a bigger trailer, but I need to eliminate a payment or 2 before I go and get another.

Regular shocks won't keep it from squatting...only air shocks, air bags, or beefier springs. I've determined that I need to add a leaf to mine as well. Great looking truck though!
