Just read through some of the threads and it looks like a lot of people here know what they are talking about, so I decided to join because I have a question i can not find the answer to anywhere.

My ATV is a 2004 Honda 300ex i just bought a Wiseco 74.50MM Piston kit which makes the piston .50 over the standard size. I was wanting to go ahead and while I have the engine broke down replace the valves and have the head ported and polished. I thought I had seen some where that there are larger valves for the 300 to replace the stock ones but i cant find them for sale anywhere. Just wanted to know if this is true or will the stock valves work if i have the head work done?

Thanks for the help in advance!

Hello welcome to the forums.... I don't see any issues with using the stock valves, springs and rockers if you do the port and polish make sure you do not polish the intake side you want to create a vortex in the port runners and polishing it will actually make your performance drop I polished my exhaust side and the underside where the piston comes up that way you will have less carbon build-up. I do reccomend atleast a stage 1 cam try here you can get oversized intake valves here you may have to call and see if they carry the exhaust but I don't think oversized exhaust would be necessary or they would have them to sell.
