Hey guys, as I posted in my Intro, bought my quad in pieces. Engine is being rebuilt and its supposed to have wiseco's piston, an aftermarket cranck and not sure what other stuff. Also has a new clutch kit. The thing is I'm picking up the engine tomorrow and was wondering what will a good break-in be for the bike. I've read about warming it up excesively before every ride and going full throttle as much as I want. Others say never go past half throttle during the first 10 Hours....etc. What's your opinion, what has worked for you guys?

update on frame.

Yeah I've heard both ways also.. I've heard break it in how you're going to ride it, and I've heard, go easy on it with short bursts of speed... I'm not really sure whats correct but I know someone here has the answer and will be by shortly.

I actually used that break-in method (motoman's) with my Teryx, and it gets to 58 MPH with no trouble at all. The only thing is that I felt "icky" while doing it. I actually tried to keep it at half throtle (user manual) for most of the time but could not resist the urge to floor it (fun little toy) and used motoman's as an excuse for a sound sleep at noght. I have "broken in" a few engines but each with a different aproach, the only one I blew was my first quad (1994 yamaha 350 moto4) but was after modding it a bit too much. Did not want to start an argument, just wanted to read opinions and did not find the thread mentioned above.

This was the first one I've ever seen, my firt words where: THIS THING IS HUMONGOUS!!!!!! our 650 Prairie looked like a dwarf beside it! As soon as I get my 250x running, I'll put it beside it and take some pictures. Riding this is so fun, but I feel more safe on an ATV.

When i break mine in i put two heat cycles on the motor before i ride it, crank it up run it at about 2000rpm for 10 minutes let it cool down to cold enging and do it again, then when i take it out its balls to the wall!!
