Decided to try out a new disc kit offered on amazon that I’ve never seen before. I’ve used super Atv before and never liked the way they use the bolts all the way through as lug studs. Just seemed a little cheap to me. Anyway this kit is $199 and I installed it this morning. It uses the press in studs like highlifter. Spotted vented rotors and everything seems well made. I didn’t have any brake fluid so I will update on function as soon as I get the brakes bled.

Looks good, hopefully they work well and turn out to be a bargain. I’m with you on the superatv kit using the bolts as lugs, I thought it was odd when I fitted mine.

Looking good , ironic the timing of your post , I am about to purchase another disc kit for the front of my 450 , was on the phone withSuper ATV Friday on another issue , tried to buy pieces of a kit , they wouldn't do it , I have 8 front kits and 2 rear kits on bikes , that I got the kits from them , kind of burns my balls that they won't sell me parts

So I don't get about the lugs " Not " being bolts on this kit , it looks like in that pic , that it is set up the same way as Super ATV's kits , bolts thru the rotor , hub and ring

The SuperATV rep on this page told me to contact them for individual parts when I asked in a thread a while back.

You might try that route. If they won't sell individual parts then that's a definite reason for me to not buy anymore of their kits.

I have one on hand ready to go on a 300. Was going to get it installed to see how I liked it before I bought any more. I have 6 300's on hand now and don't plan on keeping drums on any of them.

If you can't find parts then to me an item like this is worthless.

I put 420 Rancher factory brakes on Basfnb's 300 a couple of years ago. It's a PITA but at least parts are readily available.

On this kit you actually press out the factory studs and press in these studs that are threaded on the backside for the disc to bolt to. I could never keep the bolts tight on my super atv kit because naturally when you thread the lugs on it wants to back the bolt out of that spacer.

LBZ ---When I do the bolts on the disc kits and wheel spacers , I use Lock-Tite and a impact , would bet I am over torquing them with the gun , but I have never had a problem with them back off yet ------ I think I will try one like you just got this time around ---- did you see my 450 thread , I really think the 450 I just built already had a reduction in it , I am not sure , but it sure feels very low geared for 29.5's , maybe it is just me use to 14.5 % reduction on the other one

Jeep , I remember when that all went down with the rep --------- I tried before to buy the springs on the caliper slides , they wouldn't sell me them , had to make my own springs

My betting with the SuperATV kits is that they buy them in as complete kits and parts aren’t available separately to them. They’d probably have to split kits.
Wonder where they buy them from, China, Taiwan? Haha

I’m kinda torn at the moment, so I let my 300 go with the SuperATV kit on and buy new for my 450 or do I keep the SuperATV kit for my 450....? Not sure what to do.
In all honesty the drums on my 450 are better than the SuperATV disc kit at the moment, obviously a few puddles and hub deep stream crossing will change that but.....!!

I have the Highlighter Disk Kit on mine & LOVE it. I need new pads already. They stop great, but find they wear fast.

See 300 with the SuperATV discs, and look for cheap Foreman 500 brakes to put on your 450 when you want to swap over.

You know Honda parts will always be available. SuperATV just discontinued their 2wd disc brake kit, and will all bikes having discs from the factory now, disc brake kits will be a shrinking market going forward.

So you CAN get individual parts? @fishfiles...

Any progress on the hydraulic rear kits?

I was actually quite pleased with the one kit I have, but I don't get rid of stuff so having something serviceable and knowing parts will be available in the future is a deal maker or breaker for me.

Don’t sweat it, that’s normal banter around here haha.. Glad to hear spare parts are actually available.

Lol! All good here :wink Sorry for the hassle. A lot of my reps on the phone are trained to not part out kits unless they are for our products. They may have been confused. Everything we have is definitely serviceable and we'll get you whatever you need. My name is Erik, and if my rep has any questions they can clear anything with me or their supervisor Max. We'll take care of you guys.
No exact ETA on the hydraulic kit yet, but I definitely made a stink about it with my engineers. Its in the works, but everyone keeps releasing new modes and we're trying to keep up with them. Its easier to get my engineers more excited about new machines than going back and changing old stuff...but I'm definitely on it.

Makes sense on parts for newer bikes being in much higher demand than our old beaters, and ultimately you are in business to turn a profit, not just to make people happy, so carry on.

Thanks for responding. Says a lot about the company when you take the time to address an issue on a chat forum.

your in the bizz too make money..great !. but !!!..the thing that your engineers need to, and should be worried about ?..is there is more used atvs already out there, waiting to get some parts for their machines ?, think about this, how many old atvs are in the hands..compared to new ones out there ?. something tells me, most folks can't afford new atvs ?, soooo..they ride old atvs..and these old atv owners are wanting something for their machine ?, want to make a sale ?, offer parts for them !. then sit back, rake in the Benji's..lol.

Very true! That's why I brought it up a few months ago. I know the hydraulic kit would be better than the current mechanical kit, but the current kit does work well and its pretty affordable. There are a few issues that caused some debate on the hydraulic kit. We'll have to adapt the current kit to be able to use the foot brake without completely redesigning everything or losing the foot brake. It'll need a better master cylinder for the two lines, and try to keep it around $250. Or...just eliminate the foot brake to make it simple.
