Not much of a mechanic but can usually fix most problems.. I have a 2005 Honda Foreman 500 that will not crank on battery alone.. I've replaced the battery and when I turn the key to on the dash lights up but when I push the start button I hear a single click somewhere close to the battery and the dash lights go off.. Turn the key off and on and nothing happens but I can jump start it with no problem.. Not exactly sure what to do at this point!

Make sure all your connections are clean, sounds like your either not making a good connection at the battery or starter solinoid.

just came across this, i didnt get to say clean your connections. TBR beat me to it.. good for him, an you... you might want to invest in some dialectic grease, and put it in all connections, or connectors.. save ya time later if you do.. JMO
JMO [[ just my opinion,, is that ligitimate, i am to old to keep up with it. IMO, comes to mind. IMO in my opinion,, JMO just my opinion.] never mind, i am out on another tangent]

I bought a new battery last year online and had a similar problem, the battery was supposed to fit my 2011 Recon but apparently it didn't have enough cranking amps, I returned it and went to Honda to get the right battery.
