I think social media killed a lot of forums, I suppose a lot of folk on here are on FB, I would go on again to stay in touch with folks from here though.
I only know of the foreman forum, HL and Polaris, haven’t really searched, those I stumbled upon along the way, I doubt there would be another forum as good as this one though, I mean good in many ways, fun, inviting, a font of knowledge & not just for ATV’s.
I hope the tech guys can speed things up their end as I can see it’s annoying some folk, and may possibly cause a reason for folk to move on to other forums.

You say come back by and visit , I don't think you are understanding what I am saying , I am thinking more like there will be nothing to visit --- Highlifter has two guys left and they don't even talk atvs , it is all joking around

Sorry, I meant I would go back on FB to stay in touch. As you say, if people abandon the site there is nothing to come back for. If tech can speed things up a touch I see no reason why this place should fall.

I like it here not going anywhere—I have visited the ATC site that’s pretty good lots of highly technical info there too.
This is a superb forum—lots of knowledgeable folks

I’m cool with lurkers but the popup ads are annoying to them I’m sure. It costs nothing to sign up and sofar as I’m aware no problems for me with security issues.

Goober makes a great point....... When i 1st joined .......i was one of those who kind of stood back..... BUT...... Once i became more active ........ You fellas made me feel like this place was home, IT IS NOW....THANK YOU ALL, AND ...... I feel as tho I've made some really great friends here, plus the advise I've gotten is TOP NOTCH!

One thing that does get at me..... Is those that come in for advise ..... They get there issue repaired , from advise they get here.... THEN BAM....there never heard from a again. An example -------- shadetree came to my home town to help a fella member out powerstroke70... I missed meeting shadetree..... Had a stuck loaded semi ..... So. Missed the chance, and for Powerstrroke...... Shadetree fixed his 300 up..... And powerstroke left... Haven't heard anything from him in a long time.... This brings me to another missing in action explicitracing...... He's been gone for a while too, i like my friends...... What i don't like s not seeing them active here with us.... We have a few that have come back...... I'm glad rodp is back...... We need good members like him. I'll clam up now......

I'm not going anywhere either. And fb is horrible for things that this forum exists for. Even with some of the technical difficulties we see here, the platform is still way better.

I prefer the forum over facebook groups. I believe facebook is good for selling/trading stuff but for the technical issues and seeing a build from start to finish nothing beats the forum. I'm pretty active member I think, I'm not the most knowledgeable but I do know a little. LOL

I have to agree with you 100%, FB does seem to attract the ‘red neck’ builds as fish calls them lol. There are some knowledgeable folk on there and I often wonder how they put up with the constant stupid questions, such as repeat questions which have already been answered but they can’t be bothered to read through the thread. Much more sensible folk on forums, usually.

When someone new joins .... have a look at their 'Member Number'.
Where are all those folks preceding the new member ?
It's real quiet around here sometimes ....
It just might be the right time to start a new 'best' tire or oil thread !
:smile

ps. Where's my favorite emoji ..... rasta dude ?

Thread starter: What's the 'best' emoji ? :big-grin

FB format is terrible compared to the forums.

That said, this forum isn't the only one having technical troubles. Hondaforeman traffic is WAY down compared to here, and over there I have more issues posting than I do here due to technical glitches (to post I have to click on "go advanced" THEN post)

People come and go. We all take breaks every now and then. I used to post all the time on Jeep boards but now I'm more into ATV's. I still lurk occasionally, but CJ-8.com is about the only one I check daily, and that's just because it's like this forum, with a lot of regulars who post often. Technical glitches with tapatalk ran off a few of the really helpful users on that forum, so these glitches can definitely kill traffic.

The biggest benefit in my opinion on these forums is the info stays there to help others in the future. If you do a google search on an issue, this forum, Hondaforeman.com, and ATVconnection (I've never posted there) pop up in the search results. Then you can usually find the answer to your question.

You don't get that with FB. Stuff is posted and then it's lost down the page.

So for the regulars, stick around. We can make fun of each other and swap parts while it's a little slow. It will pick up again.

Most forums I used to to be part of over the years died off to Facebook..

This is the only one I visit now.. Forums are so much better than Facebook IMO.

I was a mod/scrip bot writer ......back years ago with a msn groups , but of corse msn closed (probably SOME due to my space ?) groups and group chat rooms, don't confuse group chat with open msn chats, group chats were moderated, (msn open chat wasn't aka zoo) i. Have heard of yahoo groups, I'm not saying this is an option......just spit balling.......

Asking if anyone here uses them, and how much the rules have changed.......? I know anything about yahoo, but never heard anything good, at least what i have heard isn't nearly as bad as what I've heard and read about Facebook .

I was thinking more about this....and it wouldn't surprise me if this forum turns into the "vintage Honda ATV Forum" one day. Think about it, majority of the regulars here are owners of machines that are 10 to 30 years old. I'm a regular on grizzlycentral.com too, and most regulars there are there because they are enthusiasts of Yamaha's biggest and newest atv's. So the life of this forum will most likely be dictated by honda's ability or lack thereof to grow a new customer base or not.....and we all know how well that is going compared to the other manufacturers.
