Hello all, I just purchased my first ATV. 2010 Green Rancher with AT, IRS, and PS. I just bought boot guards and plan to run larger aftermarket wheels and tires. I'm new to the ATV world have put nearly 15 hrs. in the first week. My 9yr old daughter and I are loving it.

My question is, what's the best 2 inch lift kit? Only used for simple trail rides and looks.

I have an 09 rancher and wondering why a lift kit? I put 26" tires on mine and got an inch extra clearance but even my wives with 25 " tires gets through some pretty deep mud and on the trails, many very rutted by 4X4 trucks, we have yet to bottom out. The low center of gravity is what we really appreciate especialy with the kids riding with us.

Hello and welcome to the forums. Most of the standard 2" lifts are pretty much the same. So if you pick a brand name then you should not have a problem.

The extra height will make it easier to roll and the increased angle of your drive axles will wear them out prematurely. I wouldn't do it on a 4x4 IRS machine...just my 2 cents.

I just saw pics of one with 14" rims and 27" tires with no lift. It looked great, so I'll just do wheels and tires. Good point about the easier tipping, it's not the best idea with young one's. I wonder why some ad's mention better handling? Thanks

I don't know why the say that...better handling is not possible with any type of lift. The 27's will give you plenty of ground clearance...good decision.

I wouldn't put 27" anything on a rancher with no lift. Think about the front tires when you turn.

Good point about the rubbing with 27's. I'll do some measuring before I purchase. I have a friend that's about to do the same, so I'll see first hand how they fit or rub.

Ive heard that 26" is the biggest tire that will fit and function well without a lift kit on a rancher. Ive got 25" on mine and even they rub and pull on the plastics when i make a sharp turn. Just do plenty of research, maybe even try the highlifter forums as they would know alot more about lift/tires/mud capability improvments. Im sure one of them could tell you exactly what you need to know.

It still does not rub with me ( I weigh 400#) on it nor me and my wife but to I did have to put an optimizer and an HMF pipe to compensate for the power loss due to the tire size , but now I have more power than I did all stock, all the mods I have done I really love, I will not look back.
