Hey all,

Just recently flipped our 2006 honda foreman rubicon. The insurance company just came back with a figure of 4500 for the value of the machine. The machine was about 7300 brand new. Now for the damage, the frame is supposedly bent, the rear axel is bent, both racks are bent, all plastics need replacing, the front bull guard needs to be done along with the skid plates.
Now the insurance company said they could sell me back the machine for around 800 bucks. Is it worth it? I mean the engine is still great, the machine still drives and runs, but there are alot of cosmetic and structural issues.
Im not saying that I would fix all this but, I am asking is it worth it to buy back for 800 and maybe part it out.
Im just not sure...

Thanks, and sorry this is so long..

Hell yes offer them 500..,the motor is worth a grand on ebay, plus there's a ton of other parts that are still good worth a lot of money..Also,you can pick up a good frame for 100-400 bux, used plastics for under 200(prolly not perfect for that price)rear axles for fitty on ebay, straighten the racks out.All of the electricals, and electronics on it are worth 500...I'd do it if it was low hours, and had been taken care of... a little elbow grease, and a grand, you'll be riding again with cash in your pocket...

i say they are blowing smoke up your arse !!!..lmfao..if all you did was flip it..and not rolled it over and over..there is nooooooooo freaking way you done all that damage..spec bending the frame !!..it takes a shit load of force to bend one of those frames. as for your axle..i highly doubt it's bent..if i'm not mistaken..isn't that axle inside a tube..like for axle tubbing ?..if so..nope..no way that axle is bent !..i would have to pull that axle myself and see it myself !!! skid plates..yeah..they bend..but nothing a hammer can't fix.racks can be done with a hammer too for that matter. as for your plastics..did they get busted up bad ?..or just a few cracks ?..from the sound of it..and i know how insurance company's are..they want to right off the bike for a low price, instead of paying to have it fixed..you did have full coverage on it...right ????..whats your deductable ?..is it lower than 800 bucks ??.if so..pay the deductable..and have the insurance company fix the damn bike..let them eat it !!..lmao. now..if you do decide to buy the bike back from the insurance for 800..your best bet would be to part it out on ebay..the motor alone is worth that much. if it were me..and i had full coverage on it..i'd pay the deductable..and have it repaired.
