My friend and I just started our 10 day road trip yesterday stopping to ride tons of trails, and the first mile one of the bikes (rancher 2007 4x4 fe) started losing power. At first it would start back up after sitting a bit and finally I had to pull him back to the truck. A few weeks ago he stalled it out in a creek and it took on water. We changed the oil 6 or 7 times until it was clear. Alot of water. Yesterday, We ended up getting it running strong by changing the spark plug, everything seemed perfect until today, after 4 miles in the mountains it's doing it again, just losing power and bogging down. This time we were able to ride it to the truck. Were out if ideas, so any help the keep us on our trip will be a huge help! Thanks!

Welcome to the forums..... Check your fuel filters and the petcock drain on the tank also make sure your air filter is clean it sound like you got some fuel delivery issues? It may be the electric fuel pump getting too hot and when it cools down it starts working again.??? Also make sure you don't have anything restricting your exhaust. The inner baffle could have come loose and is partially blocking the exhaust port.

Welcome to the forums. I agree with Moose, if it's the 420 Rancher, it could be a bad fuel pump or the fuel filter could be stopped up. The fuel filter is inside the fuel pump on the 420 Rancher.
