Okay so i bought this quad (2003 trx400ex) with it missing some parts and pieces, one of them being the headlight bulbs.. Got new bulbs, went to install and i feel like i am missing a piece. But looking online, on ebay, and exploded views i dont know what i am actually missing or how these bulbs are held in.

This is what the back of my headlight looks like,

And for the exploded veiws i have,

SO I have #2,3, and 4, which according to the exploded views is all the parts.. Im guessing there is a piece that screws into the back of the housing where the two screw holes are that i am missing?? Or does it fit in some other way?

Thanks!

from what I looked at ?, it seems that the bulb goes in, then part #3 bulb end connectors goes up against the bulb, then the large rubber cups hold the bulb in ?. I looked at a used assembly on ebay, and it too did not have any metal parts screwed into the housing.

from my old eye's
it looks to me like the plastic housing in your picture has a groove in it, near the inside hole, that the bulb maybe with a tang on it slides in that groove and you twist it to get it to stay there, then boot goes on to make connections
MOST lights on atv;s in earlier yrs were all this more or less, using a tab on the bulb as part of the way it stays in place,. same as on motorcycles and snowmobiles of same age brackets?

I thought it was missing those metal parts ?, but I could not figure out why they don't list them on their micro fich ?, very odd !. the screw holes is what gives it away, as we all know, almost every Honda has metal inside where the bulb goes, as it has to have a ground, great call bro !.

Would be awesome if you do have those, would definitely save me from having to buy an entire headlight assembly!

Thanks for all the help, at least now i know what i am missing. Wonder why in the hell anyone would take off the metal piece, makes no sense.
maybe the PO was in the process of modifying the lights to accept better , high powered bulbs , seems a lot of people do it
