I have a 2017 Honda Foreman Rubicon 500. I need more power. I want to be able to turn my tires harder and faster and all want more horsepower where I can at least get the front 2 tires off the ground. Cause as of right now I can't even lift the front up and I aint got no power. All I have is ITP 28s on there.

wellllllllll..you bought the wrong atv for what you seek bro. these utility atvs are not meant for power like you want, Honda does not build them for that. now, you could go sport atv ?, but still..by the time you get what you seek ?, you may as well have bought a different machine to be honest.

You need a Gear Reduction my friend, more power is quite simply a no-no without spending mega dollars

Yeah your right, wheelies aren’t possible off power with Honda’s.

like everyone her has said, a Honda 4x4 atv is a low HP machine, geared more for work
there at about 30 hp, as to most all like sized atv's from other brands, 50+ hp range
and there is very Little you can do to make a honda atv make more hp, the amount of money it would cost to gain a few hp, is silly and honestly just a waste of money IMO
a gear reduction will get you more power to TURN the tires, as when you went to 28 inch tires over stock 25's
you LOST power in the process, taller heavier tires rob power, and alter gearing!

so a GR will correct the gearing, but your still loosing top end speeds due to the gear reduction, and its NOT making any more HP, and you still have the heavier tires to take power away!

smaller tires will lower stock gearing and make better use of the power, but NO one wants a atv on small tires it seems anymore!

your best option here is, honestly sell the atv and buy a more sporty atv, it will be money better spent than TRYING to make this honda what you want it to be!

this si why folks need to do there homework before buying, so your not wasting money!

best of luck to you!

I don't have any problem pulling wheelies on the wife's 2017 Rancher 420 4x4. Its not effortless like the Brute Force, but it will do it. I'm sure the bigger tires aren't helping your cause any though. The only 4x4 machines I've ridden that will effortlessly pull the front end are Brute's and Canned Hams. Buy the right tool for the intended purpose.

Could do some Fi mods...but yea, they need some coaxing.
he's going up hill, has a back pack on, and prob hit a little bump to get that extra front end lift ?, lol.
stand on the back rack, second gear, lean waaaaaaay forward, then fall back as you punch the throttle. with proper timing its possible lol. stupid. but possible :grin

Tie a strap really low on a tree and high up on your rear rack then ease into it. I bet you could hold a wheelie indefinitely with good brakes...rear brakes that is, but if you slam into you are likely to catapult yourself into the tree.

This seems to be a forum more for the utility crowd. Which is why I like it. There are plenty of Sport fans on here, but most of the talk that I have seen is for the other side of the coin.

That being said if you are trying to use your utility quad to show off and maybe hurt yourself you may have to put up with a little ribbing from the older crowd...and from me!

Hope you find what you are looking for.

P.S. do not follow any advice on wheelies from myself or anyone else...
