Need help with a couple things number 1 the atv 2 days again was running mint yesterday it was about minus 20 and just thought I would try to start it and it started fist kick after 2 primes and choke well today I went out put the choke on and it started first kick again well after doing so chores with it I noticed it had a low throttle miss and it won't idle very well it always stalls unless I raise the idle up on it just wondering what could have happened to make it change fRon running so mint to nother good at all 2 It needs a new rear bearing on the brake backing plate just wondering what's the best way to do it just take the axle off with brake assembly still on the axle or try and take just the brake bacling plate of while the axle it's still on the atv and 3 I got a parts bike and have been using parts off if it to fix this one but the parts bike is a 2000 model and just thought I should ask seeing how some people say the front axle off of that atv won't fit my 1992 due to different axles between the 1 gen and the 2 and 3 is this true or will it atleast just work for alittle while. Ps should probably add this I also took the carb of the parts bike could this maybe and when I changed it was about minus 15 outside and it ran amazing that day along with it starting yesterday but the weather changed and now it's about maybe just barley freezing out could the change to it being warmer out maybe change the way it's running? Thanks would love the help

AHHHHHHHH! Use some punctuation man!

Throttle miss you might have picked up some trash in your carb. Rev it up and with it revved up pretty good put your hand over the intake, completely blocking it off. Sometimes that's enough to let the engine suck any small bits of trash on through and clear a partial blockage.

As far as the brake panel, just take the backing plate off.

The axles are the same 88-00 as far as fitting, but the hub designs changed. The early hubs weren't as long as the later hubs, and the early axles' hub splines were thus also shorter.

You can put the 00 axle in your 92, you just have to use the 00 hubs with the 00 axle, and the 92 hubs with the 92 axle. Make sense?

Ya that's making sense shouldn't be hard to change that I'll try your idea with blocking off the air intake after I posted I took off my fuel strainer and it was right full of yucky crap so could very well be my problem

Sorry, thanks for the help she's running better now.

I did notice though that when I took the air filter off it Was full of oil. The air intake was dripping with oil so that may be part of it!

One more thing once I get it working good what kind of mods do you suggest? I would like to get like a cam to get more power. What would you suggest for moderate mud running and trail.

Your post are very hard to read , oil in the air box could be as simple as a mud diver warps nest or blockage in the crankcase vent tube , could be from the oil level over full , the carb float can allow fuel to leak past during storage and fuel can get into the crankcase and raise the oil level , could also be bad rings or valve stem seals allowing oil into the cylinder , I seen where rolling the bike over will sometimes get oil in the air box , was the oil in there when you got the bike

Sorry i'm bad at writing, no when I started working on the bike it wasn't running. I had to put some oil in it but it wasn't over full, I'll check the breather to see if it's plugged though.

I'm surprised it runs the cleanest out of all our atvs,

we have 6 and 4 are Hondas. All our other burn oil.

Once I get the atv in the shop I'll check it out.

Com'man , show us some pics !!!!!

I love 300's , I also have a 92 , it is blue , I have other 300's but right now but the 92 is my favorite , only thing scares me with the 92 was there are some parts that are specific to that year making them rare , like the front bumper , I will never push anyone out a hole with it , that is for sure

It's been it the family since brand new, my grandfather bought it. It was a farm atv for fencing chasing cattle and pulling, not much trail riding he kept it really clean. when I got it about 4 or 5 years ago then I bought a new atv, I parked this on for years. but I love this old honda never beat them so I'm fixing it up, going to use it like a real honda should.
