I will start off by saying hi to everyone because I just joined the forum today. I am not much of a mechanic but I can fix minor issues and follow a schematic. I have an early 90s fourtrax 4 x 4. The problem is that it dies everytime I ride it. It starts really good and idles good and runs good but sporatically dies. Sometimes I can ride for miles and it will be fine then it will just die. Other times it dies every few minutes. I thought at first that I had some debris in the gas tank so I took it off and flushed it out and cleaned the filter but that didnt help. I have had a few backyard mechanics look at it and try various things but to no avail. I am seriously considering sending it to a real mechanic but hate to drop a ton of money on the bike when it may be something I can fix myself.

check your spark plug and make sure your boot is on good, maybe your gas line to the carb, thats all i know but others on here know a lot and someone will help out soon

hey when it gets warm feel you coil pack it maybe that as were it starts good and everything it would only do it when u have it warm

YOu may have a partially clogged jet also. you will have to remove the carb to check those, you have a main jet and a slow jet.
